Set in a village called “Muduru”, the novel revolves around the main two characters, Mukajji and his grandson Subraya. Subraya represents the doubts raised among human beings about God and other traditions.

Mukajji is an 80-year-old widow who lost her husband at the age of ten. This book has got some supernatural power to tell the character of Dadi,

The truth about things that are about to happen and those that have already happened. Although there are other characters, the author has used them effectively to convey his subject.

How wonderful is this Mukajjiya Kanasuglu book

I bought hardcover. It can fit in the front zip of your backpack. Put it as a companion, grandma tells some interesting stories.

She can also predict which makes it surprising as the story takes place in a remote South Indian hill station. Where people like old grandmother are neglected in social matters.

In between it can get a bit boring as the author tries to introduce the characters. Once the story begins, you never know where you are.
It has won a National Award, so let me end my comment here. Go enjoy the book, what you pay for is nothing more than what you get.

It has books with a nice and smooth finish

Get a hardcover, it has a nice and smooth finish, which makes you feel like reading more. Mukajjiya Kanasugalu is the first Kannada novel that I read, I was really impressed by the story narration which is very captivating.

The book explains some of the truths about religion and has a philosophical touch. Overall this is a very good book, I really enjoyed reading this book, and a must read if you know Kannada.

great novel. The narration technique used by Karanth can never be out of date. It is contemporary for all ages. It is a soothing and calming journey of reading. It is polymorphic. The thin line between fiction and truth is beautifully narrowed and placed in two related characters.
